While you may only see dentists a few times a year for general cleanings, they actually provide many services. First, as aforementioned, cleanings are extremely common. It is recommended that you do them every six months. In addition to cleanings, dentists also work on cavities, damaged teeth, and fillings. They may even put in dental crowns, perform root canals, or take X-rays. Many dentists will also work with dental assistants or hygienists for some of these services as well.
